Breakthrough

Okay, real quick update. I saw the doctor today and he just checked a few things to make sure nothing too serious was happening. Then he was pretty much done with me. When I asked how I was supposed to take care of my kids, he told me to talk to the physical therapist. So...ugh. But at least it's nothing serious, and it has been getting more bearable, so I'm sure it'll all work out.
Now, more importantly, I have an exciting story. I was lying down while my kids napped. Yes, I make sure they nap at the same time so I can nap, too. At one point, I heard footsteps in the hallway, but then nothing so I wasn't sure if I was half asleep and just dreamed it. After another 30 minutes or so, I heard a small voice. I thought it was Lily, so I went to check on her in her crib, but she was still sleeping real hard. So I went in the living room, and there was Gabriel just reading a book. He looked at me and was very excited to tell me, "Mom! I was quiet for you! I was quiet with the trains, and I was quiet with the Stitch (toy)!"
Now, those of you who have children who actually believe it is possible to breathe without your presence may not understand. This boy's first destination when he wakes up is always by my side. Not only did he manage to play on his own, but he intentionally did so quietly with the express purpose of letting me rest. I love this kid, and I'm super proud of this little show of independence and thoughtfulness.
And while we had some time together, we sent pictures to Daddy at work!
